چکیده
State-of-the-art acidic oxygen evolution reaction catalysts are mainly based on mixed oxides of titanium and iridium or ruthenium. Because its high chemical corrosion resistance stability in acid, $${\hbox {TiO}_2}$$ is a promising support material, yet with poor electrical conductivity. We herein theoretically examined the electronic properties substituted rutile-phase titania, which Ti partly replaced by elements fourth, fifth sixth period. For negative values calculated segregation energy, we conclude that heteroelement M forms solid solution for 25% 50% substitution. these heteroelements, calculate Since it known structure transition metal strongly depends applied theoretical method, performed self-consistent optimizations Hartree-Fock contribution to exchange functional hybrid every compound. Experimentally, two favorable unfavorable were synthesized foreign concentration. The most candidates improve titania Ta Nb.

Band alignment of rutile and anatase TiO2
The most widely used oxide for photocatalytic applications owing to its low cost and high activity is TiO2. The discovery of the photolysis of water on the surface of TiO2 in 19721 launched four decades of intensive research into the underlying chemical and physical processes involved2–5. Despite much collected evidence, a thoroughly convincing explanation of why mixed-phase samples of anatase ...
متن کاملParticle Characteristics and Metal Release from Natural Rutile (TiO2) and Zircon Particles in Synthetic Body Fluids
Titanium oxide (rutile, TiO2) and zircon (ZrSiO4), known insoluble ceramic materials, are commonly used for coatings of implant materials. We investigate the release of zirconium, titanium, aluminum, iron, and silicon from different micron-sized powders of 6 powders of natural rutile (TiO2) and zircon (ZrSiO4) from a surface perspective. The investigation includes five different synthetic body ...
متن کاملHydrogen Impurity Defects in Rutile TiO2
Hydrogen-related defects play crucial roles in determining physical properties of their host oxides. In this work, we report our systematic experimental and theoretical (based on density functional theory) studies of the defect states formed in hydrogenated-rutile TiO2 in gaseous H2 and atomic H. In gas-hydrogenated TiO2, the incorporated hydrogen tends to occupy the oxygen vacancy site and neg...
متن کاملAcetone Chemistry On Oxidized Rutile TiO2(110)
Surface defects are known to dominate both the electronic and chemical properties of metal oxide surfaces, an object of much study for use in catalytic processes. In order to study surface chemistry in detail, an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) chamber was designed to combine a LEED and STM system. Construction is underway, with a reported initial base pressure of 10−9 Torr revealing no major leaks. On...
متن کاملDye-Sensitized Nanocrystalline Rutile TiO2 Films
Dye-sensitized nanocrystalline rutile TiO2 solar cells were prepared, and the influence of Li and 1,2-dimethyl3-hexyl imidazolium ions in the electrolyte on the photovoltaic properties was compared. The electrolyte containing Li ions produced a lower open-circuit photovoltage than the electrolyte with 1,2-dimethyl-3-hexyl imidazolium ions, suggesting that the adsorption of Li ions to the rutile...
